If you haven't audited your Instagram page, consider this a reminder to do so before 2024. Instagram is constantly evolving, and adjusting your strategy to keep pace with these changes is crucial. In my YouTube video, I discuss common mistakes that business owners and entrepreneurs make and how you can rectify them.

TIP ONE: Optimize Your Bio

Your Instagram bio is the first thing users see when they visit your profile. It's an opportunity to make a great first impression and tell users about your business. Specify who you are, what you do, and who you do it for. If visitors can't quickly understand these aspects, they are more likely to leave your page.

TIP TWO: MAKE SURE YOUR Graphics Size and reels ARE ADJUSTED

Instagram's photo format has expanded beyond the square 1080x1350 px. Now, it supports portrait graphics and photos of the same size. If you're using Canva to create your graphics, ensure you double-check the size and adjust it if necessary. This helps prevent any potential issues when publishing content on Instagram.

Regarding reels:

You can start editing on Capcut, a mobile app, or directly on Instagram. It might seem inconvenient, but Instagram tends to prioritize content that follows specific guidelines. Ensure you use their text and editing tools, and schedule your content directly from Instagram.

Reels between 4-10 seconds typically perform the best. If you're posting, your hook and the music you choose are crucial. Instagram now offers templates, and I recommend using them if possible.

tip three: use your stories to encourage engagement

Instagram Stories are an excellent tool for businesses to share day-to-day updates, behind-the-scenes looks, or quick announcements. They're only available for 24 hours, which can create a sense of urgency and increase engagement.

Instead of just posting content and disappearing ("posting and ghosting"), focus on encouraging engagement. Respond to comments, ask questions in your captions, and use interactive stickers in your Stories. Remember, Instagram is a social platform, so interact with your audience and build relationships.
